Yesterday morning, myself and 3 friends had just passed the North Pole when I realised that I'd a puncture (that I was waiting on as I'd gone over some stones on the road earlier). Two fellas in a red van stopped and bascially changed the tube etc in 2 mins - it'd have taken me about half an hour!) About 5 mins later the front wheel was flat and along came the same NPCC fella on the bike as the club was just starting off. He stopped and gave me a tube, as I had already used the only 1 I had with me. I'd just like to thank him again - it was much appreciated!

Hi ALL! Being new to cycling im looking for information on training indoors. Just having got my bicycle from Phelim (Bikes & Toys - www.pedalandoutdoor.com) "Thanks Phelim" I want to know if indoor training is the correct way to go or start. I have seen many of these indoor training units from the very cheap €100 units that just sit on the back wheel to the more involved VR Computer setups.
Can anyone give me some advise on where to start and what I need to be doing.
Many thanks Steve Carndonagh.

Can I just post this quick note to confirm to everyone that the 2009 Donegal 3 Day race, based in Killybegs is full systems go. There has been a few stories spreading in the form of a Chinese whisper about the event not taking place this year. Roll on the June bank holiday weekend and the hard Donegal roads

John Deere Classic 2009 The third annual John Deere Four Masters Classic one-day race will take place on Sunday15th March at 12.00 as part of the Ulster Classic League series. The race starts and finishes in Kilmacrennan, 6 miles north of Letterkenny. The course is the same as last year's, and will again be a challenge as it is an out and back loop rather than a circuit race. The Four Masters club is aware that the event will be run in a period of heavy racing, so we have kept the race short to allow for travelling and recovery. Total race distance will be 54 miles (89km) but with several short hills and two long climbs on the course, the race will be ideal for riders preparing for the Tour of Ulster and the FBD Insurance Ras. At the same time there are good prizes for all categories and the course is certainly different to the usual diet of circuit races. Race entry is €15 (£10) with neutral service and the all -important broom wagon being provided, with tea and sandwiches after to get the recovery going. We need 60 riders to cover expenses and to make a proper race of it. This is an exciting course, and we are sure that riders will find the change refreshing so we hope that all levels of rider will come along to support the race. Prize list Overall Euro 1 200 2 125 3 100 4 75 5 50 6 40 1st Second Category Rider 1 60 2 40 3 20

Noreen Mc Garvey, age four, from Gweedore, Donegal is the daughter of Ronan and Sonia Mc Garvey, and the niece of Four Masters cyclist Paul Mc Intyre.
On Tuesday 13th May 2008 Noreen was involved in a horrific car accident which took the life of one woman, and left Noreen and her Mother Sonia with serious injuries. Noreen's younger brother Aodhan was also in the car but escaped with minor injuries. Noreen who is currently at the Stoke Mandival clinic in the UK is confined to a wheelchair. Her parents are trying everything possible to get Noreen the best treatment available to give her every chance to repair the spinal injuries sustained during the accident. Before Noreen gets home to Gweedore her parents would love to put a lift into the house to let Noreen stay in her own bedroom and keep her life as normal as possible. Please come out on the 14 September 2008 and support this good cause. If you are unable to do this event please sponsor one of the cyclists. The 2008 Four Masters Cycling Clubs Poison Glen Tour takes place this year on Sunday 14th September. The event will be based at the Letterkenny Community Centre with sign on open from 8.30am to 9.25am. This year we will be leaving in 2 groups depending on indivual cycling abilty. The first group consisting of Leisure cyclist only will leave at 9.30am with the second group leaving at 10.0am. We would kinda ask you to get a sponsorship card and raise as much money as possible. as this is a charity event the minimum entry fee is ?20.00 As with all Four Master events there will be plenty of support vehicles on the course to ensure a safe and enjoyable event.
Sponsorship cards are available for this cycle from Castle Cycles Raphoe, Eamonn Tinney & Sons Letterkenny, and Bizzcards Letterkenny, or can be downloaded from www.fourmasterscycling.com For more information on this event contact Liam Tinney on 087 2902515
